Monetary Donations

Harrisburg ICO is an self-funded, all volunteer organization. There is no office or paid staff. Donations go directly to the costs to provide outings and purchase gear.

Outing costs typically include transportation, park entry fees, food for snacks and lunches, and supplies. Transportation is the largest item in the Harrisburg ICO budget. Rental vans and fuel comprise more than fifty percent of the cost of a typical HICO outing. Food for an outing is our number two expense.

If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation to Harrisburg ICO by writing a check, the check must be made out to: Sierra Club Foundation with Harrisburg ICO written in the memo line. Mail the check to the HICO Michael Horgan, at: Harrisburg ICO, 1901 Clarks Valley Road Dauphin, PA. 17018. Harrisburg ICO receives 100% of the amount donated.
